Welcome to the Marvel superhero multiverse, Read the recommendation of the artifactscollector team, It is recommended to watch the Marvels in order and catch up before the release of "Thor Love and Thunder" in 2022.

There are two common methods of constructing the chronological order of Marvel Studios films.

The first is to follow the order of the films, starting with IRON MAN in 2008. The second is a chronological order of the Marvel films following the sequence of events. This means putting CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER in pole position and mixing the Phase 3 films in an interesting way.

Here's our updated Marvel movie viewing order advice.

1. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (2011)

steve roger first avenger

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

Most of the film takes place in the 1940s with Steve Rogers and introduces the audience to the CRD, which will become S.H.I.E.L.D. Even the end credits sequence, which includes Nick Fury, is a good setup for everything that follows.

2. CAPTAIN MARVEL (2019)

captain marvel

The story takes place in the 90's and introduces S.H.I.E.L.D. and an important stage in Nick Fury's career. The story also introduces the Kree, and most importantly, deals with an object that will become important towards the end of Phase 1 of the MCU.

3. IRON MAN (2008)

iron man 1 tony stark

The MCU starts with the Iron Man movie, so it's a good idea to put it here. We know who Howard Stark is thanks to Captain America: THE FIRST AVENGER. Seeing his son Tony take his first steps into the "grand universe" is a significant step in the order of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. The final scene, in which Nick Fury emerges from the shadows, will take on a whole new meaning after the events of CAPTAIN MARVEL.

4. IRON MAN: 2 (2010)

iron man mark 2 et mark 3

After IRON MAN introduced audiences to the modern iteration of S.H.I.E.L.D., the sequel dives into that organisation. Nick Fury plays a much larger role, giving viewers a sense of who this character really is.At the same time, the focus on Howard Stark's legacy continues to bring the narrative threads together. It makes perfect sense to watch IRON MAN 2 at this point.

5. THE INCREDIBLE HULK (2008)

incroyable hulk

This particular adjustment to the viewing order is appropriate. While The Incredible Hulk does take place at the same time as IRON MAN 2. The ending sequence assumes that Tony Stark is now in a "consulting" role with S.H.I.E.L.D.

6. THOR (2011)

thor et odin

THOR introduced audiences to Asgard and launched a series of stories based on events in the eternal realm. At the same time, he continued to develop the SHIELD storyline, with Coulson and Hawkeye playing an important role.

7. AVENGERS (2012)

les avengers original

THOR: RAGNAROK is a logical continuation of the events of the first film, with many of the same themes and character arcs. Loki is back as a villain, the concept of the Tesseract is explored and the existence of dangerous alien beings becomes public when the Chitauri invade New York. The first film hints that S.H.I.E.L.D. is not just "nice". There is a sequence in The Avengers that is worrying, where the World Security Council orders a nuclear attack on the US.

8. THOR: THE DARK WORLD (2013)

thor le monde des tenebres

This is where things change, but for good reason. The last two films have explored the cosmic part of the MCU, and it makes sense to continue that. Some of the most important themes and ideas - notably the relationship between Thor and Loki and the Dark Elves - fit perfectly into the continuity of The Avengers. This film also introduces the idea of the Infinity Stones, although they are only partially explained at this stage.

9. THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2014)

gardiens de la galaxie sortie de prison

Continuing the cosmic focus, Guardians of the Galaxy with lead hero Peter Quill, unveils another Infinity Stone. The Collector, featured in Thor: The World of Darkness, makes another appearance, tying the two films together. Viewers get the sense that Infinity Stones are at play throughout the universe.

10. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.2 (2017)

gardiens de la galaxie crash planete

The events of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 take place just a few months after the first film, so it makes sense that they follow directly on from each other. It picks up on the space opera style and tone set by the last two films in our Marvel rankings.

11. IRON MAN: 3 (2013)

toute les armures de iron man

After the cosmic diversion, Tony Stark has to deal with the emotional fallout on Earth. The time that has passed between the two films has made Tony's PTSD more significant, but also more natural that he has built so much armour.

12. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014)

natacha et steve rogers

Continuing with the focus on Earth, this film shows what Captain America is up to. Cap isn't helping Tony against the Mandarin and Stark isn't there to deal with HYDRA, which is why this story could even take place at the same time as IRON MAN 3. Or maybe Cap and Stark are still suspicious of each other. But most importantly, this movie marks the beginning of a hawkish arc that will extend into future movies.

13. AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (2015)

avengers ere d'ultron

The film begins with the Avengers destroying a major Hydra base. Thematically speaking, bringing this film closer to IRON MAN 3 makes Tony's emotional journey more immediate and natural. This film also begins to link the earthly adventures with the cosmic stories, with another Infinity Stone revealed. Thor's vision suggests that there is an imminent threat.

14. ANT-MAN (2015)

ant man costume

Ant-Man is set immediately after Avengers: Age of Ultron. It contains subtle references to the devastation of Sokovia. Sam is brought closer to main character status by the fight with the Falcon.

15. CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2016)

civil war team iron man

The Sokovia arc, which began in Avengers: Age of Ultron, reaches its climax in Captain America: CIVIL WAR, which tears the Avengers apart. CIVIL WAR serves as a launching pad for the next series of Earth stories, which therefore fit perfectly after it. It also fits perfectly with the final scene of the ANT-MAN movie.

16. BLACK WIDOW (2021)

natasha et yelena

Natasha Romanoff flees from Secretary Ross after dropping the Sokovia Agreement. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down. Natasha must confront her past as a spy and the broken relationships she left behind long before she became an avenger. The film introduces us to Yelena Belova, the potentially new Black Widow in the upcoming MCU films.

17. BLACK PANTHER (2018)

black panther combat

Black Panther was introduced in Captain America:CIVIL WAR, and this film continues his story. It is appropriate to add this film to the sequel, as BLACK PANTHER takes place only one week after the Avengers split.

18. SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING (2017)

spider man ecole

Set two months after Captain America: Civil War, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING is dedicated to Peter Parker. It's important to note that Tony Stark has had some time to heal, so this viewing order makes sense.

19. DOCTOR STRANGE (2016)

docteur strange oeil d'agamoto

By placing Doctor Strange here, we give the film real importance as a thematic link between the earthbound and cosmic films of the MCU. Doctor Strange introduces the concept of magic and involves the Time Stone. The quantum realm also plays a subtle role, as Strange perceives it as he is sent through all dimensions. Ultimately, the final scene is a nice introduction to THOR: RAGNAROK.

20. THOR: RAGNAROK (2017)

thor ragnarok vs hulk

This film is a logical extension of Doctor Strange The final scenes begin the direct build-up to Avengers: INFINITY WAR, with the Asgardian refugees intercepted in space by Thanos.

21. ANT MAN AND THE WASP (2018)

ant man et la guepe

It is difficult to place it within the thematic framework. Most of the story takes place before the events of Avengers: INFINITY WAR, so it makes sense to place it here. This particular order of viewing, however, changes the way the post-credits scene plays out. Rather than understanding what's going on, you'll experience the same shock and horror as Hank Pym or Scott Lang.

22. AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018)

combat new york tony banner docteur strange

You'll have to see Avengers: INFINITY WAR before you see Avengers: ENDGAME. Writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have said that the slam was originally in ENDGAME. Watch the two films back to back, as they were filmed - their relationship is so close.

23. AVENGERS: ENDGAME (2019)

tony stark vaisseau endgame

The world is reeling from Thanos' explosion, and our heroes are just as affected as everyone else, if not more so. The fourth AVENGERS film is the culmination of a 10-year story. It is intimately connected to what came before it, including the first three AVENGERS films. The story completes a handful of threads that began in several previous films and opens up new dimensions to be explored in future MCU films.

24. SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME (2019)

mysterio spider man

Marvel's second SPIDER-MAN film follows ENDGAME very closely, as it explores Peter's grief after the death of Tony Stark and The MCU ends with changes in the world that indicate the direction Marvel should take.

25. SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME (2021)

spider man no way home docteur strange

The events of SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME take place immediately after the revelation that Peter Parker is our favourite Spider-Man, the one from the neighbourhood. Based on this, we have placed the third episode of the Tom Holland version of Spider-Man at number 26 in the MCU and moved SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS and ETERNALS down the timeline.

26. SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS (2021)

shang chi anneaux

The legend has just arrived. SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS introduces us to the newest Marvel hero, Shang-Chi, as well as the original story of the real Mandarin and his terrorist group, the Ten Rings. The film follows ENDGAME, but focuses more on Shang-Chi's journey of discovery while setting the stage for the future of the Marvel universe.

27. ETERNALS (2021)

les eternels

The film is set in the present day, after the events of AVENGERS ENDGAME and the launch of Phase 4 of the MCU. Learn more about Celestial in Eternals, already mentioned in Guardians of the Galaxy. Join Ajak, Ikaris, Sersi, Thena and the other Eternals in their fight against the Deviants to save Earth and humanity.

28. DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS (2022)

29. THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER (2022)

marteau de thor cassé jane foster

His retreat is interrupted by Gorr the Butcher of the Gods, a galactic killer who seeks the extinction of the gods. Despite his pleas for help, the gods have not intervened. Of course, the god of thunder Thor is among his first targets. In this new installment, we will see Jane Foster return as Mighty Thor.
